Generally speaking breathing disorders can be described as an insufficiency of the respiratory system to maintain the normal amount of oxygen in the arterial blood. More specifically a breathing disorder is a pathological syndrome, that is characterized by low partial pressure of oxygen (lower than normal) and increased partial pressure of carbonic gas.

Breathing problems can develop if any of the following organs of systems are affected:

• Respiratory tract as a whole
• alveolus
• Central nervous system
• peripheral nervous system
• respiratory muscles
• thorax region

A large variety of illnesses can manifest in breathing disorders. Most common breathing disorder symptoms are:

• Increased and excessive breathing
• wheezing sounds upon exhalation
• Difficulty to take a deep breathe
• Blue skin around mouth and fingertips
• Inability to move rapidly without suffocating

Without rapid treatment such problems can lead to terrible consequences. Just in USA the percentage of deaths from breathing disorders is around 14%. Due to the increased pollution of the air, stressful life and sedentary lifestyle breathing problems become really widespread.

A great contribution to breathing disorders is overweight and adiposity (obesity). The risks of developing bronchial asthma and hypoxia is greatly increased in people with excess weight. Stress induced hypoxia is also very common among people who work with with the computer and do not have enough physical exercise. As a conclusion we must state that breathing problems, wheezing and etc. should be treated very seriously and reported to your doctor as soon as possible.
